William Stephen Hare, Sr., of Exton, formerly of North Coventry and Haddonfield, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018. Bill was the son of the late Stephen and Isabel Hare and was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Hee. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Dr. Anne Barrett Hare; his daughter, Allison; his son, William Stephen “Steve” and his wife Kirsten. Bill is also survived by three beloved grandchildren, Anyaliese, Will and Wyatt Hare.

Bill attended St. John the Baptist High School and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Villanova University. Bill was the founder and president of Scientific Management Associates, an international Naval Defense contracting firm. After SMA was sold in 1982, Bill went on to other successful business endeavors.

Anne and Bill enjoyed traveling, skiing, boating, theater and their homes at the Jersey Shore. Most of all, Bill savored precious time spent with friends and family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 1, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Church, 120 St. Elizabeth Drive, Chester Springs, Pa 19425, where family and friends will be received from 8:45-9:45 a.m.

Interment will be private with the family.

The church requests no flowers during Lent. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. John the Baptist Restoration Fund, 146 Rector Street, Philadelphia, Pa 19127.
