George “Bumps” Dailey passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening at St. Martha’s Manor in Downingtown, PA. George was a 4th Degree Chester County Knight of Columbus. George served during the Korean War in the Air Force and was a proud veteran.
George was born September 3, 1930 in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Downingtown High in 1948 and then proudly served in the Air Force while stationed at Sampson Air Force Base - Seneca County, NY. When he had free time, he would spend it with the love of his life, Frances. On July 2, 1952 Bumps and Frances were married at St. Joseph's Church. Their Catholic faith would be the guiding light in their lives.
George worked at Milprint which later became Reynolds Metals Co. While raising his family, he spent a lot of time at St. Anthony's Lodge where all four children were on the swim team and he very much enjoyed family vacations at the Jersey Shore. He loved spending time with his family and friends, listening to Big Band music, dancing, attending air shows, visiting antique car museums, and enjoying a good laugh.
George is survived by his wife, Frances (nee DiPietro) of 65 years, daughters Chris (husband Ken), Patti, Francine, son George (wife Gina). He was especially proud of his grandchildren Michael, John, Tara, Breda, and Brooke. George was a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend to many and will be deeply missed.
