Danielle “Danni” DeWoody, age 44, of Collingdale, PA, was given her guardian angel wings on July 5, 2017. Danni was born in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Kenneth DeWoody (“Daddy Ken”) and Patricia (nee Leyrer) Murphy. Danni was a realtor for Wagner Real Estate in Havertown, PA for the past two years.

This vibrant, quirky red-haired beauty was known for her many talents, such as her unforgettable gift of voice and her untimely wit.  She was a lover of the Arts, performing in numerous plays and in live bands as well as touring across the country with Fred Waring’s U.S. Chorus.  Wanting to give back to the community, Danni selflessly spent many hours volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House in Delaware.  She was a voracious reader and enjoyed learning about science. Danni was always exploring unique interests and loved sharing the knowledge she discovered.  She was compassionate and empathetic.  If you had an ailment or an ache, she was offering healing crystals or mixing essential oils she carefully researched to help you heal.  Danni was unable to enter a room without a boisterous greeting and an amazing smile.  Even in difficult times, Danni brought out her sense of humor as a way to help herself and others to cope with whatever issue was at hand.  Danni loved everyone and was loved by all in return.  Although Danni’s life was taken too soon, the sound of her beautiful voice will always resonate with her family and friends.  

In addition to her biological father, Danni is preceded in death by her grandparents, Mrs. Joan Leyrer, Kenneth and Elizabeth DeWoody, and James and Maude Murphy. 

Danni is painfully missed by her parents, Patricia, and Philip Murphy (“Daddy Murph”) of West Bradford, PA, siblings -Philip Murphy (Laura) of West Bradford, PA and Andrienne DeWoody Drager (Robert) of East Fallowfield, PA, nieces and nephews - Cameron, Sara, and Brennan Murphy, Rebecca McNeill, and Madelyne Drager, and grandfather, William Leyrerof West Bradford, PA; as well as the Love of her Life for over thirteen years, Kevin Leach of Claymont, DE.

Relatives and friends are invited to Danni’s Funeral Services at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335.  Visitation will be Tuesday evening, July 11, 7:00 to 9:00 PM, and again on Wednesday, July 12, 9:30 to 11:15 AM, followed by a service at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow to Northwood Cemetery, Downingtown. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Danni’s name can be made to the Upper Darby Summer Stage 40+ Campaign, 601 N. Lansdowne Avenue, Drexel Hill, PA 19026 or the Ronald McDonald House- Delaware Chapter, RMHD.
