Stephen Murray

Stephen Murray, 77, of Coatesville, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Chester County Hospital. 

Born in Chester, PA, he was the son of the late Alonzo Murray and Clara Freeman Murray.

Stephen was a huge sports enthusiast and loved watching all sports especially Men’s and Women’s basketball.  He enjoyed watching Old TV shows and eating cookies.  In Stephen’s younger years, he enjoyed a day out fishing.  He was a member and minister at Church of the Deliverance in Downingtown.

He is survived by his three daughters, Stephanie Y. Nichols, Tonya M. Harris (James) and Sharon L. Purcell (Roy); two brothers, Freeman Murray and Ronnie Murray; and a sister, Brenda Mincy.  He was also survived by six grandchildren, Justine, Jasmine, Olivia, Zamir, Xavier and Romen and a host of nieces and nephews.

Stephen was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 27, 2022 at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 1060 W. Lincoln Highway, COATESVILLE.
