Tribute

Stephen Richard Colantuno, 72, of Downingtown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Paoli Hospital.

Born at Methodist Hospital in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Frank Joseph and Marie Frances Colantuno (nee Castagliuolo).

Stephen was a well spoken and well read man who began his young professional life as a Biology teacher in the Philadelphia Catholic School system at St John Neumann after receiving his education at Widener College (now Widener University. He was a stock broker with Merrill Lynch for a short time but his gift for reaching people and connecting with them drove his career in the direction of sales. Stephen was a pioneering QVC on-air host from its inception in 1986 and for more than the following 10 years. He continued his sales experience beyond that in jewelry, fur, and retail. Stephen was a lifetime NRA member with an extensive knowledge of firearms and was an accomplished marksman. He enjoyed the unique hobby of flying planes and as a skilled pilot he would share his joy in that with his loved ones by taking them for flights.  As a history buff he also enjoyed antiquing, flea markets, and treasure hunting. Steve was a man with a fantastic sense of humor and was an entertainer at heart whose blue eyes, charm, and creative quick wit will be missed by many.

Stephen is survived by his two children; Damon Colantuno of Conshohocken and his four children,  Daria Salvitti (nee Colantuno) of Havertown and her three children, his sister Joan Trago of Fort Myers and her three children, his loving partner in life Christine Hammond of Downingtown and her three children Matt, Eric, and Olivia and their children.
He was predeceased by his brother Frank Colantuno of Fredrick, MD
