Robert D. “Bob” Saladino, 83, of Honey Brook, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Bryn Mawr Hospital after a short illness. He was the beloved husband of H. Carol Willis Saladino, with whom he shared 37 years of marriage.

Born in Beloit, Wisconsin, he was the son of the late John and Jean Sims Saladino. As the oldest of three children, he especially enjoyed teasing his younger sister. He loved the summers as this would enable him to spend as much time as possible at the local swimming pool. He was always industrious and responsible whether it was as a paper boy, picking potatoes at a local farm or running errands for his mother at five years of age.

Bob was a 1956 graduate of Beloit Catholic High School and proudly served his Country in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1959 where he worked with radar equipment and repairs. After being honorably discharged, he was exposed to the world of computers and he ultimately became immersed in the design of these systems.  As a Computer Systems Designer, he thoroughly enjoyed his work no matter how long the hours. Later on, as he was closer to retirement, he travelled to various cities teaching computer classes and design.  In his spare time, Bob loved listening to Blue Grass music and playing the banjo and mandolin. He also loved the travelling that he and his wife were able to do in their motor home. They ultimately ended up spending winters in the south and subsequently purchased a home in Florida.

In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his children, Kimberly Hood, her husband Joseph and Robert L. Saladino. He has four grandchildren, Cassandra Hood, Kevin Hood, Bridget Oakes and Olivia Oakes and two half-sisters, Carol Zeis and Mary Sue Ulven.  He was predeceased by his daughter, Catherine J. Oakes, his sister, Nancy Becker and his brother, Gerald Saladino.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 2, 2021 at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown.  Family and friends will be received from 9:00-9:45 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Stroke Foundation.
