Robert F. Grubb

December 2, 1947 ~ June 2, 2022 (age 74)


Robert “Bob” Grubb, 74, of Downingtown passed away peacefully at home on June 2, 2022.  He was the husband of Bonnie (Kirk) Grubb with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.  Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late James B. Grubb, Sr. and Marian (Foraker) Grubb.  He attended Downingtown High School, then served in the U. S. Army in Vietnam during the Tet Offensive.

Bob was a union bricklayer and a member of the Bricklayer & Allied Craftworkers Local #1 PA/DE.  He was an avid sports fan with his favorites being the Philadelphia Phillies baseball, Penn State football and Villanova basketball.  He also enjoyed car shows, his second home in Ocean View, DE and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his children:  Karyn Grubb of Pottstown, Traci Leon (Dean) of Downingtown, Kelly Lewis (Sam) of Downingtown, Lisa Grubb of Pottstown, Ryan Grubb of Coatesville, Sara Grubb of West Chester and Ashley Pyle (Jamie) of Newark, DE, as well as his grandchildren:  Kate Leon, Jake Leon, Evan Leon, Elijah Lewis and Greyson Book.

He is also survived by his siblings:  Susan Montgomery (David) of Mt. Joy, Sharon Singh of Philadelphia, William Grubb of Downingtown, Patricia Murdoch (Bruce) of Glenmoore and Richard Grubb of Raleigh, NC, plus numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings:  James B. Grubb, Jr., John Alderfer, Ronald Grubb, Judy Grubb, Mary Grubb and Jerry Grubb.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 10th at 11:00 a.m. in the cemetery of the Baptist Church in the Great Valley, 945 N. Valley Forge Road, Devon, PA.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Bob's memory to the Spina Bifida Association of the Delaware Valley at
