Richard D. "Dick" Malloy

It is with great sadness that the family of Richard D. Malloy announces his passing on January 4th, 2019 at the age of 87.  He was called home to touch the face of God and to be reunited with his loving wife of 36 years, Ilene (Howe) Malloy. 

Richard was the son of the late Joseph D. Malloy and Helen Kincaid Malloy.  Richard will be lovingly remembered by his children Ric, Tim (Lesly), Mark , Traci (Charlie Duncan) and his 2 grandchildren Devon and Tim Jr.

Richard was a 1950 Graduate of Tredyffrin-Easttown High School and after entering the workforce he spent his entire working career in the trucking industry as a Parts Manager. First with Matlack Company, then Mushroom Transportation and finally with Atlantic Richfield (Sun Oil), where he retired in 1991.

In retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family, watching his grandchildren grow and attending their many sports event, music programs and award ceremonies, collecting oil company memorabilia and model trucks and traveling between his 2 homesteads in Brookline Vermont and Gap, PA.  He had a love for gardening, travel, ice cream and attending events such as the PA Farm Show and the annual Thresherman’s Reunion at Rough and Tumble in Kinzers, PA.   In later years, he made frequent visits to Tim’s cabin in Union County, PA.  Did I mention that he loved ice cream!

An evening viewing will be held on Tuesday January 8th 2019 - 5:30 to 7:30 pm.   Followed by a funeral service at 7:30 pm at the James J Terry Funeral Home, 736 East Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown PA 19335.   Internment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Brookline Vermont, at a later date.
