Livian L. Galban

Livian L. Galban, 84, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at her home in Honey Brook with her loving family at her side.

She was the beloved wife of Louis S. Galban, with whom she shared 59 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia, Livian was the daughter of the late Leo and Lucille Amore.

She was a graduate of St. Hubert Catholic High School for Girls. Livian worked for more than 30 years for Strawbridge & Clothier and the May Company.  She was known for her warmth, kindness and smile that would light up a room. She was always ready to offer a helping hand and felt great compassion for those in need. Livian most cherished the time she spent with her family, children, and grandchildren. She also loved singing, dancing, and crafting, and was strongly devoted to her Catholic faith.

In addition to her husband, Livian is survived by six children; Victoria Miller (Eric), Cristina Carr (Edward), Selina Rufo, Michael Galban (Margaret), Susan Galban Sliwka (Kenneth), and Maria Galban (Leo Sylvester), 18 grandchildren, and one great-grandson. She is also survived by her brother, Leo Amore Jr. (Frances); sister Linda Reintjes (Andrew), and brother Joseph Amore, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Livian’s funeral mass on Monday, January 23, 2023 at Our Lady of Consolation Church, 603 W. 2nd Ave, Parkesburg, PA  at 10:30 am. The family will receive relatives and friends before the mass, from 9:30 to 10:20 am. For those unable to attend, a livestream on Livian's funeral mass can be viewed from Our Lady of Consolation's You Tube Channel. 

Interment will be in Our Lady of the Seven Dolors Cemetery in Parkesburg.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Livian’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
