Kathleen Joann Henry

Kathleen Giffin Henry, 91, formerly of Pinellas County, FLA and recently of Coatesville, PA, died peacefully at her daughter’s home on April 7, 2021. Beloved mother of Barbara Ann Henry, Coatesville PA, devoted daughter of the late Wallace and Helen Giffin (FLA) and wife of the late Milton R. Henry (FLA).

Kathleen was a tough, independent woman ahead of her time during the era when most women stayed home to care for the family.  A graduate of Little Flower Catholic High School, Class of 1947, she was one of the first female computer systems analysts during the 1960’s. Along with her keen aptitude for math and logic, she was proficient in self-teaching herself whatever artistic and creative ideas caught her interest.  At the age of 84, Kathleen taught herself professional quilting and created a diverse array of beautiful bed quilts, wall hangings, etc.  

An avid animal lover, Kathleen was particularly fond of cats and memorialized several of them in her hand painted needlepoint designs.  She also loved medieval English history, was addicted to romance novels and loved a good game of poker.  It was tough to beat her at Trivial Pursuit as well.  

She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Barbara Ann and long-time “family” members Keith F. Mackey and Margaret M. Farley.
Services will be private.
