Tribute

Kathleen (“Kathy”) Dillon (nee Cain), age 65, of West Chester Pa. passed away very suddenly on February 18, 2020 at Paoli Hospital in Paoli Pa.

Kathy was the very much beloved wife of Michael J. Dillon with whom she shared 38 blessed years of marriage. Kathy and Mike were soul mates, they did everything together and were always there for each other through the many good times and the very challenging times of life’s journey together.

As Kathy and Mike would always say: “They had a perfect marriage as they were just two imperfect people who refused to give up on each other”. They loved each other dearly.

Kathy was the adoring and very proud mother of two wonderful daughters: Colleen Levinson (Brett) and Kelly Pot (Eli), and was the very much cherished and beloved grandmother of seven wonderful grandchildren: Alaina (16), Scarlett (12), Brody (7), Brennan (4), Katelijn (4) Brayden (2) and Luuk (2). Kathy was very proud of her two daughters and seven grandchildren.

Kathy also very much an animal lover and is survived by her beloved dogs Nate a yellow lab and little Charlie whom she rescued.

Kathy was raised in Drexel Hill Pa. and attended Upper Darby High School, she played and was varsity lettered as a freshman in field hockey, basketball and lacrosse.

Kathy was a wife, mom and grandmother before anything else. Kathy’s laughter and smile would light up a room whenever she would walk into it.

Gardening was a passion that she took such pride in and she would work in her gardens until the most beautiful landscape of flowers was created for all to enjoy and admire.

Cape May, NJ. held a special place in her heart. Cape May is where she spent summers with her young daughters, just sitting on the beach reading a good book and talking with friends.

she spent time volunteering and coordinating the meal kitchen for Safe Harbor a homeless shelter in West Chester serving lunch and dinner for five years after it first opened on Matlack Street. She always felt she was truly doing God’s work when she served at Safe Harbor. Her young daughters would help her prepare and serve meals. She will be remembered for her kind heart and compassion for others.
