Joseph D. Ziegler (Joey Z), age 40, of Downingtown, PA, passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at his home.
Born on November 30, 1978 in West Chester, Joe was the son of the late Karl T and Linda L Ziegler (nee Henley).
He leaves behind his beloved and beautiful, four-year-old daughter, Quinn F. Ziegler and three siblings who miss him terribly, Karl “Tony” Ziegler (wife, Holly), Theresa “Teri” Petrohoy (husband, William), Julia R. Ziegler-Mullen and his nieces and nephews; Kyle A. Ziegler, Celeste M. Ziegler, Emma R. Petrohoy, Anna M. Petrohoy, Karly R. Mullen, and many loving extended family members and countless friends.
Joe was a 1997 graduate of Downingtown High School and pursued his college education at Bloomsburg University where he was proud of his accomplishment of Intern of the year. In 2001, he received a Bachelor's of Science degree from Bloomsburg University in Marketing and Management.
Joe was an amazing baseball pitcher and avid Philly sports fan. He loved fishing, spending time with his family and playing family board games. Joe can also be remembered for knowing hundreds of movie lines and by always making others laugh with his quirky sayings. Joe was full of life and his charismatic nature made him easy to get along with. Above all else however, was Joe's love for his daughter, Quinn. Joe worked at the Downingtown Municipal Water Authority as an Operator.
An evening viewing will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019, 6-8pm, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335. Saturday morning, February 23, Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am, where family and friends may visit 9:30am-10:45am, at St. Joseph Church, 332 Manor Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to help offset the cost of his final expenses and help relieve the family of such a sudden financial burden would be greatly appreciated.
