John “Jack” Swarner III, age 77, of Coatesville, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Jack was born to the late John C. Swarner Jr. and Pauline “Polly” Hedrick, and grew up in Downingtown, PA .
Jack, a 1959 graduate of Downingtown High School, also graduated from Goldey-Beacom College, and served in the National Guard. For over forty years, he worked for Lukens/Bethlehem Steel, in the Traffic and Sales departments.
Jack loved bowling, and was a member of multiple bowling leagues at Palace Bowling in Downingtown. He enjoyed catching up and spending time with his friends from Downingtown High School, and participating in the reunion committee.
Jack is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia H. Swarner, with whom he shared 46 years of marriage. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Susan Jesiolowski.
Jack is survived by his three sons, John (Mary Alice Raudenbush), Michael (Kim Simmers), and Matthew, as well as many loving extended family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Friday, March 29, 2019 at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, where family and friends may visit from 9:30am-10:45am. Interment will be at the All Souls Cemetery, 3215 Manor Rd.,Coatesville, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jack’s name can be made to the Colon Cancer Coalition.
