John Anthony Perrotto, age 100, of West Chester, PA passed away peacefully on Friday, August 5, 2022 at his home at Wellington at Hershey’s Mill.  He was the beloved husband of Rose Rita (Giuliani) Perrotto, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage.

Born in Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Guiseppe Perrotto and Rosa (Perrotta) Perrotto.

John graduated from Manhattan High School of Aviation Trades. A month before he turned 19, he enlisted in the U. S. Navy, where he served for four years during World War II. John was assigned to the USS Baltimore in the Pacific Theater.  He was the crew chief of the ship's patrol seaplanes and flew many war zone missions.

After his honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy in 1945, John worked as an aviation mechanic with Trans World Airlines. He was later employed by the New York City Transit Authority, where he worked for 30 years.

Upon his retirement in 1981, John resided in Cape Coral, Florida for 12 years. Prior to his move to West Chester, PA, he was a resident of Shelton, CT for 27 years.

John was proud of his military service and was a regular participant in annual reunion trips with the U.S. Navy Cruisers Sailors Association. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion. His hobbies and interests included stained glass, painting and cruising.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by his son, John A. Perrotto, Jr., daughter Rosemarie Rondos(husband Craig), grandsons Matthew (fiancée Kate), Zachary and his cherished cat, Tiffany. 

In addition to his parents, John, the second youngest of nine children was predeceased by two brothers and six sisters.

A graveside service will be held privately.
