John F. "Jack" Davis

John “Jack” Frederick Davis, 92, of Exton, Pa, formerly of Paoli, Pa, passed into the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ on January 17, 2023.

The son of Maurice F. and Alma (Weber) Davis, he was born on September 26, 1930 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from Elder High School in Cincinnati in 1948, and from the University of Detroit in 1955 with degrees in Structural Engineering and Architectural Engineering. He was a licensed engineer and architect, registered in 7 states, and worked in several foreign countries for Sun Oil Company, ARA Food Services, and United Engineers and Contractors, before opening his own Architectural Practice, J. Davis Associates, Inc. in Exton, Pa.

As a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he is survived by his wife of 41 years, Penny K. (Von Rembow) Davis, and his eight children. Margaret Fraley (James) of South Carolina with Amy; Theresa Harris (Clint) of Idaho with Erick and Zachary; Mark Davis of Downingtown with Daniel and 3 great grandchildren; J. Christian Davis (Lisa) of Thornton, Pa. with Kendra, Patrick and Christopher; Lora Rohall (Rick) with Britney; Todd Davis of Downingtown; Craig Davis (Jane) of Hudson, Wisconsin with Joseph, Jackson, and Tessa; and Andrew O’Donnell (Julia) of Exton, Pa. with Cooper, Madeline, and Mia.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James and Gerald, of Cincinnati, Ohio.

He was an avid golfer, a long time Senior Softball pitcher, past member and past president of the West Chester Exchange Club.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023 at 10 am at East Brandywine Baptist Church, 999 Horseshoe Pike, Downingtown, PA 19335. Visitation will be held from 9 – 10 am prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Birmingham Lafayette Cemetery, West Chester.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jack’s memory to Samaritan's Purse.
