James R. Bonanno

James R. Bonanno, age 73, of Honey Brook, PA, passed away on Monday, July 2nd, 2018, at Brandywine Hospital.

James was born and raised Philadelphia, PA, to the late James H. and Viola (nee Francesconi) Bonanno.

After graduating St. Joseph’s Preparatory High School, James went to Villanova University, and later received his Master’s Degree in Engineering from Penn State University. James worked in a civilian capacity for the Naval Air Development Center for 18 years, eventually taking a job with Lockheed Martin of King of Prussia as a Senior Systems Engineer, and retired in 2013 after 28 years.

James enjoyed his retirement, he traveled the world with his wife and loved spending time at the family shore housein Ventnor, New Jersey. He also spent time helping family and friends as a travel consultant. In addition to his love of the outdoors and hunting and fishing, he was an avid Philadelphia Sports fan, and loved cheering on the Villanova basketball team. James stayed active playing pickleball three times a week. James was a parishioner of St. Peters Church, of West Brandywine, and belonged to the Knights of Columbus, Council 10351.

James adored his family and will be truly missed by all who knew him.

James leaves behind his loving wife, Roberta “Bobbi”, whom together shared 45 years of marriage, 3 children, Danielle (Lee) Kerr, Jamie (Julian) Clybourn, and Robert (Jaclyn), 4 siblings; Mary Lou Marcella (Joseph), Salvatore Bonanno (Lisa), Thomas Bonanno (Irene), and Regina Carrado (Joseph), and 3 granddaughters, Celia, Olivia, and Amelia Kerr, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to James’ Funeral Mass on Monday, July 9, 2018, 11AM, at St. Peter Church, 2835 Manor Road, West Brandywine Twp., PA 19320, where friends and family will be received from 9AM-10:45AM. Interment is private.
