Geza Takacs, 81, of West Chester, passed away on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Chester County Hospital.
A son of the late Ferenc and Elizabeth Takacs, Geza was the beloved husband of Theresa (Hancz) Takacs. The couple shared 52 years of marriage.
Geza left Hungary at 17 years old, and eventually immigrated to the United States, He proudly served in the United States Army. Geza was part-owner of G&G Auto Repair, Media, for 40 years. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Downingtown, and formerly a member of Advent Lutheran Church, West Chester. Geza was also a member of Philadelphia & Area Hungarian Sports Club (Tanya)
In addition to his wife, Geza is survived by his daughters: Kristina Horvath, wife of Julius, of Pottstown, and Erika Neuhausel, wife of Todd, of Downingtown. He is also survived by his grandsons: Markus, Jacob, and Cole, and a sister, Margaret Bolcsik.
In addition to his parents, Geza was preceded in death by his brothers: Laszlo Takacs, Ferenc Takacs, Istvan Takacs, and Josef Takacs.
An Outdoor Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, March 30 at 12 PM at James J. Terry Funeral Home, Inc, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown. A visitation will be held inside the funeral home from 10:45-11:45 AM. Interment will follow at Northwood Cemetery, Downingtown. It is kindly requested that all guests wear face coverings and practice social distancing.
