George A. Warihay, 83, of Coatesville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Frances S. Kopanski Warihay, with whom he shared 59 years of marriage.
Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late John M. Warihay, Jr. and Dorothy Bivens Warihay.
He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, stationed in New England and served on the USS Ashland, LSD-1. He worked for more than 35 years and retired from Lukens Steel as a Technical Maintenance “Electrician”.
George was an avid sportsman who loved hunting, fishing, golfing and crafting homemade Root Beer. George made a great home for his family and loved taking great care of them.
In addition to his wife, George is survived by his sons, David and Matthew (Teresa) Warihay; and his daughter, Susan Super. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, David, Andrew, Theresa, Daniel, Chase, Kaiden and Joseph and by 10 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:15 a.m., Tuesday, April 20, 2021 with a funeral liturgy at 11:30 a.m at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 1060 W. Lincoln Highway, COATESVILLE.
Interment will be private with the family.
