Gail McMichael Formica, 83, of Downingtown passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Penn Medicine Hospice in West Chester, surrounded by her loving family.
Born August 4, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary McNeil McMichael of Coatesville and a 1953 graduate of Scott High School.
She was employed as a operator for Bell Telephone Co. before becoming a homemaker and mother of seven.
Gail enjoyed music, singing, camping and taking trips to the Delaware and Jersey shores. She also enjoyed going to the mountains, vacationing in Florida and watching the Hallmark channel, but her pride and joy was spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by her son, Anthony G. Formica, Jr., and her husband, Anthony G. (Ninny) Formica, Sr., with whom she shared 53 years of marriage.
Gail is survived by her children Brian (Lori), Christopher, Sr. (Diane), Mark, Brent, Sr., Laurie, and Ellen Mollenhaver (Mike). Also survived by her grandchildren, Christopher, Jr., Brent, Jr., Nichole, Mikey, Joey and Bella; brother-in-law, Nick; sister-in-law, Rose Castaldi; and niece, Judy Newswanger.
A visitation will be held from 9:15 to 10:45 am on Wednesday, July 24th at St. Joseph Church, 332 Manor Ave., Downingtown, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am.
Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Downingtown.
