Francis J. "Frank" Cassidy

Francis J. “Frank” Cassidy, 71, of Downingtown, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Chester County Hospital. He was the husband of Sallie Patterson, sharing 37 years of marriage.

Born in Bryn Mawr on May 24, 1950, he was the son of the late Francis James Cassidy, Sr. and Josephine Mannocchi Cassidy. Frank graduated from Conestoga High School and completed courses at RETS electronic school. Following his studies he worked at several IT firms before finishing his career with the United States Postal Service. Frank was a member of Central Presbyterian Church. He was quite the wine enthusiast, and he loved golf, always accepting an invitation to play.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his daughters Amanda Cassidy of West Chester, PA and JoAnna Cassidy Linso, wife of Ryan Linso, of Philadelphia, PA; siblings Sarah Cassidy, Michael Cassidy, husband of Merry Cassidy, Maria Sharpless and Cathy Shertzer, wife of Richie Shertzer; mother-in-law Irene Patterson; and many nieces and nephews as well as friends who considered him family.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 12 PM at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335. Viewing will be held from 10 AM to 11:45 AM prior to the service. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
