Frances P. Dailey, 89, of Downingtown, passed peacefully on Thursday, July 30, 2020, surrounded by her four children at her daughter’s home. Frances was the beloved wife of the late George J. “Bumps” Dailey sharing 65 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2018. She was the daughter of the late Domenico and Filomena DiPietro who had emigrated from Teramo, Italy, settling in Johnsontown.
Frances was named best female athlete in her Downingtown High School graduating class; her love of competitive sports continued throughout her life.
As head of the Student Loan Department at Jefferson Bank, Frances enjoyed receiving thank you notes from the students. In addition, she was acknowledged for her flawless audited loan records from the US Department of Education.
Frances will be remembered for her laughter, love for “Bumps” and for inviting friends for coffee at their Highland Avenue home; known as “Dailey’s Diner.”
She was a devoted Catholic and lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church in Downingtown.
She is survived by her children, Chris Hoover and her husband Ken, Patti, Francine, George and his wife Gina, and five grandchildren (Mike, Tara, Brooke, John and Breda). She was predeceased by her husband, “Bumps,” brother, Carmen DiPietro, and granddaughter, Faith.
Mrs. Dailey's Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday August 4, 2020 at 11:00 am from St. Joseph Catholic Church 338 Manor Ave Downingtown, where family and friends may visit from 9:45 to 10:45 am. ( Face masks are required in the church and everyone is asked to practice social distancing.)
