Eleanor Martha Haller

February 1, 1932 ~ November 11, 2019 (age 87) 87 Years Old

Tribute

Eleanor Martha Haller, age 87, of Coatesville, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 11, 2019 at home.

Eleanor was born in Philadelphia, Pa in 1932 to the late Thomas and Mary Jane Hyndman.  She resided with her family in Philadelphia, then in their family-built home on Street Road in Feasterville, PA.   She worked for both PSFS Bank and the Budd Company.

It was at the Budd Company that she met the love of her life, Robert Haller.  They married in 1959 and moved to their first & only home in Lebanon, NJ, where they attended Rockaway Reformed Church in Whitehouse, NJ and later became members of the Clinton Presbyterian Church in Clinton, NJ.  They had an amazing life together! After Bob’s passing in 2007, home was with her daughter and family in Coatesville, PA.

For over 38 years, Eleanor owned and operated Lollipop Nursery School out of their home. She was a true staple among her community and cared for generations of family’s children.  She found great joy in her job and had many fun events over the years, including circus performances, special visitors like the Easter Bunny and Santa, and who could forget the graduation celebrations with the penny ribbon certificates!  Ellie and Jeanie Braddee would load the kids up and take them swimming at the local Reservoirs, perform puppet shows, do arts & crafts daily, and they were always singing! At Mrs. Haller’s, the children looked forward to circle time and playing outside in the treehouse, sandbox, swings, and tunnel.  She even had a jungle gym built into the rec-room! Ellie woke up every day ready to love and care for each & every child that walked through her door.

Eleanor enjoyed spending time with family and friends above all else.  She and Bob were devoted parents & grandparents ~ always present in their children and grandchildren’s lives.  Holiday gatherings, reunions, and parties filled each year. Camping adventures in Cape May and the Poconos became a tradition, while summer trips out west and traveling across the pond were highlights!  Her home was always open, as was her beautiful heart.

In addition to her parents, Eleanor is preceded in death by her husband Robert M. Haller, with whom she shared 48 years of marriage, daughter Nancy L. Haller, grandson Matthew W. Haller, and siblings Jane Eastburn and George Hyndman.

She is survived and missed dearly by her children, Glenn R. Haller (Patricia), Heidi A. Houtz (Greg), and Amy S. McFarland (Randy), 7 grandchildren; Steven McFarland, Jackie Houtz, Christopher McFarland, Kevin McFarland, Allie Houtz, Eric McFarland, and Rebecca Haller, and many loving extended family members and friends.
