Edith Filoromo

Edith Ann Filoromo, age 81, of Cape Coral, FL, formerly of Chester County, Pennsylvania, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, Florida. 

Born and raised in Downingtown, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late John Celii and Mary Lena Sarmento Celii. 

Edi graduated from Downingtown High School in 1956.   She met and married the love of her life in 1960, and shared 42 years of marriage with her sweetheart, the late Samuel Filoromo.

She devoted her life to her husband and children and worked part-time jobs in between. She was full of life and lit up every room she walked into. She had a great sense of humor, and loved to socialize. 

She enjoyed cooking, playing cards, traveling, going to the beach, the casino boat, music,  (especially Elvis), and dancing; so much so that she won the Charleston competition back in 1950’. 

She is survived by her daughter Sandra McKeag (Dale) of Cape Coral, FL; son, Samuel Filoromo (Shari) of Christiana, PA, 3 grandchildren; Danielle Johnson of Coatesville, PA, Valerie Brewer (Nick) of Christiania, PA, Christopher Filoromo and fiancé Broocks Myers of Delray Beach, FL, 4 Great grandchildren; Jaiyla and Jayden Johnson of Coatesville, PA and Kayden and Kamren Brewer of Christiana, PA. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Filoromo, her daughter Francine Marie Filoromo and a brother, John Celii, Jr.. 

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11am on Wednesday, October 30th, at St Joseph’s Church, 338 Manor Ave., Downingtown, PA, where family and friends will be received from 9:30-10:45am. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, Downingtown, PA.
