Dorothy M. Cindrich

Dorothy Cindrich, 93, of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 23, 2023.

Born on September 17, 1929 in Aliquippa, PA, Dorothy was the youngest of ten children of the late John and Mary (Oros) Palko. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, George Cindrich, and her nine siblings.

Dorothy worked for Bell Telephone in her early years, Rite Aid Pharmacy later in life and volunteered for many organizations throughout the community. She was a member of the Third Order of Saint Francis and served as a Franciscan for 50 years. She shared her gift of crocheting by creating hundreds baby blankets for children in need through Project Linus as well as scarfs for athletes through the Special Olympics Scarf Project. Dorothy was a devoted wife to husband George, and together they celebrated 70 years of marriage in 2021. She was an avid baker, pierogi pincher, quilter, homemaker and volunteer. She was a beloved mother and grandmother and a member of St. Titus Catholic Church and Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Aliquippa, PA and St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Chester County, PA.

Dorothy will be remembered lovingly for her delicious cookies and amazing pies by her daughter Georgann Cindrich and husband, Joe Howard of Glenmoore, PA and her adopted son Stephen Cindrich and wife, Sharon of Columbus, Ohio; as well as her four grandchildren: Sarah Howard, Hannah Gore (Martin), Madeleine Krs (Paul) and Henry Cindrich along with many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation will be held at 8:45 a.m. with a funeral Mass following at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 26, 2023 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Chester Springs, PA. 

A visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, May 30 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Tatalovich Funeral Home in Aliquippa, PA. and again on Wednesday morning from 9 to 9:30 a.m. at Tatalovich Funeral Home followed by a funeral Mass at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Aliquippa, PA. at 10:00 a.m.

Dorothy will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Hopewell Township.  A luncheon at the Serbian Club in Aliquippa will follow.

The family would like to thank Mainline Health Hospice and the nurses, doctors and staff at Manatawny Manor in Pottstown, PA for their loving care of Dorothy during the past few years.

An evening viewing will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 30, 2023 and again from 9:00-9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Tatalovich Funeral Home, 2205 McMinn Street, Aliquippa, Pa. 

A Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Aliquippa, PA. on Wednesday, May 31, 2023.

Dorothy will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Hopewell Township.
