Dominic J. "Scottie" DiBerardinis

Dominic J. "Scottie" DiBerardinis, 99, of Downingtown, passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2018 at St. Martha Manor.

He was the beloved husband of Dolores “Dee” Sciarretta DiBerardinis, with whom he shared 70 years of marriage.

Born and raised in the Johnsontown sections of Downingtown, Dominic was the son of the late James and Philomena DiLuigi DiBerardinis and a 1937 graduate of Downingtown High School.

Scottie proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Sgt. X-Ray Tech with the 7th Air Force and the 47th Fighter Squadron, stationed in both Hawaii and Saipan.

Before his retirement in 1984, he worked as a Traffic and Inventory Controller for Sonoco Paper Company for 36 years.

He was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Church, St. Anthony’s Lodge and the Amphibious Order of Frogs.

He was an avid Notre Dame and Philadelphia sports fan.

In addition to his wife, Dolores, Mr. DiBerardinis is survived by his children, Nancy Schwartzhoff, Scott (Patience), Gary (Donna), and Mark (Laura); eleven grandchildren, Megan, Luke, Anthony, Gail, Nick, Joseph, Anna, James, Elena, Grace, and Mia; and four great grandchildren, Isabella, Abrum, Dean & Talia

Scottie was also predeceased by his son, Steven; grandson, Vincent;Son in Law Steve Schwartzhoff, sisters, Irma Templin and Ada DiBerrardinis; brothers, Oscar and Enio DiBerardinis..

A morning visitation will be held on Thursday, November 29th from 9:15 to 10:45 am at St. Joseph Church, 338 Manor Ave., Downingtown, where his Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am.

Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Downingtown.
