Dana W. Weiner

Dana William Weiner, 65, of Honey Brook, died suddenly and entirely too soon on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at his home.

Born in Framingham, Massachusetts on May 26, 1953, Dana grew up in Medway before leaving to join the US Navy after high school. Upon completing his service aboard the USS Constellation, he found himself in sunny San Diego, CA where he would later meet his soulmate, Sally. Married in 1983, the couple settled into their new life together in Poway, CA, where they remained until 2010.

An electrician by trade, Dana worked for General Dynamics in their Convair Division until 1995. Figuring he should keep up with the times, Dana became certified in a number of computer-related areas, eventually transitioning to a career in a network administration. After moving to Honey Brook in 2010 to be closer to his aging mother, Dana eventually began working for what is now Baker Tilly as an IT Senior Engineer.

A man of few words, Dana was a dedicated employee and family man of utmost integrity and character. He loved ice fishing, DIY home improvement, watching Pats games, spending time with his granddaughter, teasing his sister, reminiscing with his best friend Michael, The Three Stooges, and telling fart jokes. A lifelong music aficionado, Dana spent his free time attending local folk music festivals, catching Hot Tuna perform whenever they were in town, and religiously partaking in the annual Grateful Dead Meet-up at the Movies. Despite the distinct aroma, he never really managed to pinpoint why he felt so funny after those shows. Close to retiring but not quite ready to give up working, Dana was looking forward to finally getting back on the lake to fish, traveling with his wife, and eventually becoming a line cook or greeter, but probably both.

Dana was preceded in death by his parents, Abraham and Ethel (Nelson).

He is survived by his wife, Sally (Ruben); daughter, Rose (John) and granddaughter, Mally of Chester Springs; brothers, Steve (Ellen) of Cherry Hill, New Jersey and Alan (Pam) of Medway, Mass.; sister, Roberta of Medway, Mass., and about a dozen nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Monday, November 26th from 9:15 to 10:15 am at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, where a service will be held at 10:30 am.

Interment will commence at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, promptly at 2 pm.

Visits of consolation will be at the home of Sally Weiner, located at 109 Acorn Way in Honey Brook, PA 19343 beginning at 5:30pm with a Shiva minyan taking place at 6:30pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions are made to the American Heart Association.
