Charles Alan Jones

Alan Jones passed away on December 6, 2018 at the age of 76. He was the son of the late Robert J. and Gertrude F. (McGovern) Jones. He is survived by his son Christopher A. Jones.

Alan graduated from Conestoga High School in Berwyn and St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. He proudly served in the U.S. Army Infantry as a Ranger.

Alan worked at TV Guide Magazine for 23 years as regional manager and more recently with the Wolf Organization in Downingtown before retiring in 2010.

Alan is also survived by his brother James (Marjatta) of The Villages, Florida; sisters, Gail Van Dyke (David) of Coatesville and Patricia Bradley (Dante) of Wayne; sister-in-law, Kathy Jones of West Chester; many nieces and nephews; and former wife Diane. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Jones.

He was a member of the John Paul XXIII Council of The Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph’s Parish, Downingtown.

Alan was an avid sports fan, enjoyed working outside and was an active volunteer at the VA Medical Center in Coatesville.

Services will be private with the family.
