Brian R. Steinman, 56, of Downingtown, passed away suddenly on Monday, May 14, 2018.
He was the beloved husband of Barbara “Bobbie” M. (nee Rueppel) Steinman, with who he shared 29 years of marriage.
Born in Havertown, Brian was the son of Shirley P. (nee Leister) Steinman and the late Ray S. Steinman.
He was a graduate of Marple-Newtown High School.
For the past 28 years, Brian owned and operated Steinman Landscape and Lawn Care.
Brian had great passion and talent for swimming. He was a Jr. Olympic Medalist in swimming in 1972 thru 1974, medaling in the backstroke, freestyle, breaststroke and butterfly. He also received numerous medals/ribbons and trophies throughout his swimming career.
He loved spending time in Ocean City, New Jersey where he could be found camping at the Whippoorwill Campground, fishing at Corson’s Inlet, boating, clamming or crabbing in the bay or playing carnival games at the boardwalk.
He also enjoyed spending time outdoors and playing hockey.
In addition to his wife and mother, Brian is survived by his sons, Benjamin Brian and Brett Austin; as well as his sister, Terre Mirsch and family.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends from 1:30 to 2:45 pm on Friday, May 18th at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, where his memorial service will take place at 3 pm.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to the charity of your choice.
