Anna R. Campbell

Anna R. Campbell, 93, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at her daughter’s residence. She was the wife of the late Alfred E. Campbell who passed away in 2016, sharing almost 69 years of marriage. 

Born in Philadelphia, PA on June 6, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Cornelius Sweeney and Anna (Dickson) Sweeney. After raising her children, Anna attended school later in life, becoming an Ophthalmic Technician. She worked in Philadelphia with Dr. Kremer at Wills Eye Hospital. Following her retirement, she was a caretaker for a few families. Anna loved to cook, which included providing many meals for priests at the rectory, and she enjoyed spending time gardening. A loving grandmother, she welcomed her grandchildren to her house in Ocean City, NJ where they would spend their summers in college. She was a person with strong faith, and was a devoted wife to her husband and mother to her children.

Surviving are her children Anne Bavuso of Coatesville, PA, Kathleen Campbell of Ventnor, NJ and David Campbell of Lake City, FL; grandchildren Daniel Bavuso, Michael Bavuso, Matthew Bavuso, Nicholas Bavuso, Katie Campbell, Sean Campbell and Ian Campbell; and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons Alfred J. “Tag” Campbell and Walter G. Campbell, and siblings Mary Sweeney, Elizabeth Ford, Francis Sweeney, Cornelius Sweeney, Michael Sweeney and Jimmy Craig.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 16, 2021 at 11 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 332 Manor Ave, Downingtown, PA 19335. Visitation will be held from 9:45 to 10:45 am prior to mass. Interment to follow in Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Penn Medicine Hospice.
