Amelia Regina Shubrooks, 87, of Downingtown, passed away at Penn Hospital the night of Friday, October 2, 2020. Amelia was born to the late Thomas Vivaldi and Angelina Mammarella in Clifton Heights, PA in 1933. She was the loving wife of 37 years to Jay Shubrooks until his passing in 1996.
Anyone who knew Amelia will remember she loved cooking and baking for her family and her home was always kept immaculate. She loved to shop, decorate, doing crossword puzzles and going to the movies. Most of all, she cherished the memories made while spending time with her family and friends. Amelia was a stay at home mother until she began working at Lukens Arc Building Cafeteria for 25 years until she retired. She was a devoted Catholic of St. Joseph Parish in Coatesville.
Amelia is survived by her daughters; Robin Arabia, Kim Calamaro, Lynn Shubrooks and Gina Dailey (George); grandchildren, Christian Arabia (Allie), Carly Arabia, Tony Calamaro, Cole Calamaro, Tara Dailey, Brooke Dailey; and great – grandchildren, Vienna Arabia; siblings Carl Vivaldi and Thomas Vivaldi.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 to 11:15 am on Thursday, October 8, 2020, at Saint Joseph Church, 332 Manor Avenue, Downingtown, PA, followed by A Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am. Interment will be held privately. All guests in attendance are asked to wear facial coverings and observe social distancing guidelines.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Amelia’s honor and memory may be made to the University of Penn Neurology Research.
