Myra E. Mitchell, 93, of Downingtown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Ware Presbyterian Village in Oxford, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late James V. Mitchell, with whom she shared 66 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2011.

Born in Downingtown, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Flora L. Simpkins Haas.

Myra graduated from Downingtown High School in 1942 and lived her entire life in Downingtown. She worked for Bell Telephone during World War II. Myra was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who devoted her life caring for her family. She had a strong faith and blessed life. If you met her, you would never forget her beautiful smile.

She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Haas and her husband Thomas; three grandchildren, Karen Kohrs, Christine Stulak (George) and Thomas V. Haas; and five great grandchildren, Kelsey and Sean Kohrs and Emma, Ryan and Sawyer Stulak. Myra was predeceased by her daughter, Cheryl Mitchell and her brother C. Lawrence Haas.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown where family and friends will be received from 11:00-11:45 a.m.

Interment will be in Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer.
