William Ephraim Moffet “Bill”, 94, of West Chester, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at his residence in Hershey’s Mill. He was the beloved husband of the late Lillyann Margaret Estep Moffet and the late Mary G. Norris Moffet.
Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, he was the son of the late Ernest B. and Lucile Ephraim Moffet.
Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. He graduated with a B.B.A. from the University of Minnesota in 1948. He worked as a Marketing Manager for the Pennsylvania Railroad, retiring from Conrail. Bill was active in his community, especially serving in many adult leadership roles with the Boy Scouts in Chester County and Devon Troop 50.
Mr. Moffet is survived by his children, Ann Miller (Scott Shalter), James Moffet (Audrey Johnson), Michael Norris (Catherine), Jeffrey Norris (Barbara), Steven Norris (Lisa) and Terry Norris Butz (Rob). Also survived by 10 Grandchildren: Janessa Butz Brown (David), Tyler Norris (Stephanie), Kyle Norris (Shawna), Ryan Norris (Anji), Joshua Butz (Jaclyn), Laura Norris, Kate Norris Howard (Max), Bennett Norris, William Johnson-Moffet, and Lilli Johnson-Moffet and by 11 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by her grandson, Greg Norris, and siblings, Ernest B. Moffet, Jr. and Beverly Moffet.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, March 15, 2019 at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, where family and friends may visit from 10:30 to 11:00 am.
Interment will be in Oaklands Cemetery, West Chester.
