Walter Harry Lilley Jr.

Walter Harry Lilley Jr., 78, of Glenmoore, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Paoli Hospital.

Born in Glenmoore, Walter was the son of the late Walter and Elsie (Ayers) Lilley. He was the husband of Ella (Anderson) Lilley. The couple shared 57 years of marriage.

Walter was a member of East Nantmeal Christian Fellowship, Antique Truck Club of America, and the Hay Creek Valley Historical Association.

He was an owner operator truck driver for over 40 years. He was a hard worker his whole life and enjoyed the simplest pleasures. He was a humble man with a kind heart who never hesitated to help someone in need.

Walter was well known for his John Deere Tractor collection. He started his collection in the seventies and continued up to his passing. His other interests and hobbies were collecting antique gas engines, model tractor and truck toys and basically anything with John Deere on it. He was a perfectionist and it showed in every project he did. His reputation preceded him, so people would come as far away as Georgia to have him restore their tractors. But his greatest enjoyment was sharing his passion with others, especially his two grandsons Nicolas and Danny. He will always be remembered as the man with the John Deere tractors on RT.401.

In addition to his wife, Walter is survived by his children: Andrea Taylor, wife of Craig, of Terre Hill, PA, Debra Petrofske, wife of David, of Lititz, PA, and Harry Lilley, husband of Donna, of Honey Brook, PA; grandchildren: Jeremy, Tiffany, Cory, Ashley, David,  Nicolas, and Daniel; 15 great grandchildren; siblings: Catherine Cole, Dorothy Fletcher, Barbara Cruickshank, Allan Lilley, Carol Mller, Leroy Lilley, and Martha Wetty.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 12, 2023 from 9:30-10:45 AM at James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at East Nantmeal Christian Fellowship Cemetery, Elverson.
