Thomas Charles Tredinnick, 90, of West Chester, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.  He was the husband of Patricia Kaye Fisher Tredinnick, with whom he shared  66 years of marriage.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa, he was the son of the late John Edmond Tredinnick and Catherine Beverly Zeek Tredinnick.

Upon graduation from East Stroudsburg High School in 1951,  Tom attended East Stroudsburg Teachers College and graduated in 1955.  He was accepted into AOC Aviation Officer Candidate Program in Pensacola, Florida for Naval Aviation Flight training.  He married Patricia Fisher in 1956.  Upon completion of Flight Training, he was deployed to Lakehurst, NJ where he served on several Navy Ships….USS Intrepid,  USS Taconic, USS FDR, and USS Macon.  It was on the USS Intrepid that he made his first helicopter rescue. 

He served 22 years both active duty and Reserves in the US Navy flying out of Willow Grove. 

After teaching at Cedarcliff High School in Camp Hill, PA, he flew for Chicago Helicoptor Airways and flew out of Glenview Naval Air Station while still in the Reserves.  Following this,  he was employed by Boeing starting as a technical writer and later a test pilot.

Tom was a music enthusiast of all genres and played saxophone in a dance band earning his way through college.   

His love of aviation from a young age led him to his career choice and continued all throughout his life. 

He was a member of the United Methodist Church of West Chester, American Helicopter Museum and Masonic Lodge J. Simpson Africa Lodge, in Stroudsburg, PA

In addition to his wife, Thomas is survived by four children, Thomas Tredinnick (Heidi) , Steven Tredinnick (Lauri), Dr. Todd Tredinnick (Terri), and Catherine Norris (Michael). 

Grandchildren, Katie, Lizzie, Austin, Bennett, Andrew, Emma and Step-Grandchildren, Laura Moreschi (Will), Kate Howard (Max) and Heather Raybold, great grandchildren, Paige, Olivia and Harper, sisters-in-law Dody Tredinnick, Claire Little(Richard),  Jennie Butsch, and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother John Tredinnick.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 10, 2023, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown.  Family and friends will be received from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m.

Interment will be private with the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 3551 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, Pa 19140 or to the Arthritis Foundation, 1355 Peachtree Street, Suite 600, Atlanta, Georgia 30309.
