Thomas D. Lewis

Thomas D. Lewis, 61, of West Chester, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 surrounded by his family at Neighborhood Hospice of West Chester after a 2 ½ year courageous battle with cancer.  He was the beloved husband of the Kim Anne Lewis, with whom he shared 7 years of marriage.

Born in Havre de Grace, Maryland, he was the son of Gertrude Lewis and the late John Lewis.

Tom attended Oxford and Christiana High Schools.  His first job was with his dad in the cabinet company.  Tom worked in the maintenance department at Lincoln University for 13 years and as a Supervisor of Facilities with the County of Chester for 23 years.

Tom was an avid motorcycle rider and absolutely loved riding with his wife to many different destinations.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being in the outdoors.  He and his wife loved going to the beach, especially to the Outer Banks.

In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by his step-son, Jesse and his wife Jody; a brother, Sam Lewis and his wife Jeni; sisters, Wanda Day and her husband Bob, Susan Simone and her husband John and Rita Smyth and her husband James; two grandchildren, Jackson and Jocelyn; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and his beloved pets, Frankie and Charlie.  He was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Phillips.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, July 27, 2018 at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, where family and friends will be received from 10:00-11:45 a.m.

Tom will be interred in Green Mount Cemetery in West Chester and he will be taking his final ride on a motorcycle hearse.  The family would love for all of his fellow riders, to ride their motorcycles in the procession to the cemetery.
