Thomas J. Hudecheck

Thomas J. Hudecheck, 76, of Coatesville, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.  He was the beloved husband of Rita M. Hamilton Hudecheck, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Joseph J. and Geraldine M. Rooney Hudecheck.

Tom proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Tom, alongside his sons, ran Hudecheck Roofing Company. Tom loved sports, especially the Phillies, and coaching football, baseball, basketball, and Ice Hockey. Tom had many hobbies over the years, including surf fishing, brewing beer with his sons, and learning to ride a motorcycle in his 60’s. Tom was the life of the party; from his jokes to always being the first person out on the dance floor doing his famous finger-point dance.  What you’ll remember Tom for the most was his unconditional love for his family, his willingness to help anyone out that needed it, but mostly his unwavering love for his wife Rita.

In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by his four children, Tom Hudecheck, Jr. (Julie), Bobby Hudecheck (Christina), Julie Hudecheck (Reid Johnson) and John Hudecheck (Tiffany); four sisters, Rosemary Hudecheck, Peggy Lutes, Miriam Hudecheck and Gerry McCoy; and by eight grandchildren, Caitlin, Molly, Cooper, Asher, Isabella, Finn, Piper, and Wyatt.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, September 28, 2023, at St. Peter Church, 2835 Manor Road, West Brandywine Twp.  Family and friends will be received from 9:45-11:30 a.m.

Interment will be private with the family in St. Joseph Cemetery, Downingtown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Penn Medicine Hospice or Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
