Thomas William Ballentine

Thomas William Ballentine, 84, of Coatesville, passed away on November 11, 2023 at Reading Hospital with his loving wife by his side. He was the husband of Ethel Richards Ballentine, sharing 62 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in East Brandywine Township, PA on March 14, 1939, he was the son of the late Edward and Jeanette Yoder Ballentine. Tom was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a self-employed Carpenter, specializing in the business of home remodeling. 

Tom loved to dance, and loved all the good old country music. Tom was quite the inventor; creating, making any odd item to help out around the house or workshop. 

Tom was a lifetime member of the Eastern PA Piston Poppers Motorcycle Club, lifetime member of Masonic Lodge #383, and a lifetime member of Coatesville Moose Lodge. One of his favorite pastimes was hunting, and he loved the mountains; it was like his second home.

Surviving in addition to his wife Ethel is a brother George Ballentine of Tennessee. Although he and Ethel did not have any children of their own, he is also survived by several “children” that they have formed close and loving relationships with over the years. He was preceded in death by siblings James Ballentine, John Ballentine and Florence Dowlin. He is also survived by many other family members.
