Steven Thomas Ressel

Steven Thomas Ressel, 53, of Newark, Delaware, passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at his home.  He was the beloved husband of Nancy L. Ressel, with whom he shared 23 years of marriage.

Born in Media, Pa, he was the son of Thomas E. and Annemarie V. Shain Ressel.

He was a member of Steamfitters Local Union 420 since August 1996.  He loved his parents, brother and sister very much.  They would always support him with anything he wanted to do.  His absolute favorite thing to do was boating with his wife, whether it was on the Chesapeake or in Florida.  His group of boating friends (family) were very dear to him.  And No!  All boaters DO NOT FISH!  That would drive him nuts when he was asked.  Steve loved playing with his grandkids.  He was so looking forward to retirement and spending more time with them.  He enjoyed hanging out with family and friends, sharing a beer together and talking the day away.   

In addition to his wife and parents, Steve is survived by his son, Jimmy (Jenny); a sister, Lisa Kane (Brian); a brother, Ryan Ressel (Sara); two grandchildren, Colton and Annabelle and loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

An evening visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, September 25, 2023 at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
