Stephen F. Senn

September 18, 1941 ~ January 1, 2019 (age 77) 77 Years Old

Tribute

Stephen F. Senn, 77, of Eagle, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 1, 2019.

He was the beloved husband of Fay Senn, with whom he shared 24 years of love.

Born on September 18, 1941 in Bryn Mawr, Stephen was the son of the late Oscar F. and Edith M. Senn.

He grew up in the nursery business, working beside his father and brothers in the family’s wholesale nursery, Oscar Senn and Son's; later transformed into Eagle Nursery, Inc.

In 1976, Stephen turned his attention to creating what is now the Eagle Industrial Park and over 40 years, built 17 buildings in the park.

Steve was the President of Eagle Nursery, Inc. at the time of his passing.

Steve had a love of everything outdoors. He and Fay, along with their kids and grandkids, built a house outside the town of Rome in Bradford County and tried to spend as much time as possible visiting.

In his earlier years, he loved to hunt deer and bear. But as he got older, he said it was way warmer to just watch them from the living room window.

He was a founding member of Camp Jolly Roger in Rome, PA and was a senior member of the Barrett Township Bear Camp in the Poconos.

He never really got the nursery business out of his blood as he, along with Fay and son Steve, planted small fields of trees that he would dig and sell later. He ran the machine digging the trees right up until this past spring. He was a generous man; always willing to buy a meal if someone needed one. He would always light up a room when he walked in with his booming voice and contagious smile. Bragging about his grandchildren was one of his favorite hobbies.

In addition to his wife, Fay, Mr. Senn is survived by his children, Steve and his wife, Jen, Rich and his wife, Sally, and Cyndi Dunsworth and her husband, Gary; brother Fritz Senn,  son-in-law, Rob Fischer; stepson's, Bill McGarry and his wife, Liz, and Pete McGarry and his wife, Dianne; 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, with number 5 on the way.

Steve was predeceased by his daughter, Nancy Fischer; and brothers, Charlie and Art.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, January 12th from 9 to 10:30 am at Ludwig's Corner Fire Hall, 1325 Pottstown Pike, Glenmoore, where a Celebration of Life will be held at 11 am.
