Ruth W. Whiteley

Ruth W. (Wismer) Whiteley, 91, of West Bradford Township, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 5, 2021 at her daughter’s home where she resided. 

Born in Philadelphia, Ruth was the daughter of the late Ezra John and Ruth (Nelson) Wismer. She was the beloved wife of the late Theodore Gordon Whiteley.

Ruth is survived by her children: Joanne Tabor, wife of Paul, of West Bradford Township, Ted Whiteley, husband of Rachel, of Downingtown, Kelee O’Malley, wife of Mike, of King of Prussia, Beth MacGuiness, wife of Stuart, of Downingtown, and Tim Whiteley, husband of Comly, of Downingtown. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Kelsay, Jaymie, Ruthellen, Lauren, Haley, Jessica, Abby, Quinn, Riley, and Sam.

Ruth was preceded in death by a daughter: Tracey Dority; and siblings: Joy Gibson, Richard Wismer, and Herbert Wismer.

Ruth was of the Methodist faith, and was a member of Paoli Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Ruth enjoyed her beach house in South Bethany. She especially loved her pontoon boat.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 22 at 11:00 am, at Windsor Baptist Church, 213 Little Conestoga Rd., Downingtown. A visitation will be held from 10-11 AM. Interment will follow at: Philadelphia Memorial Park, 124 Phoenixville Pike, Frazer, 19355.

It is Ruth’s wish to have a “Celebration of Life” with family and friends following the burial. Location will be determined.
