Rose Regina, age 77, of King of Prussia, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Park House Nursing Home, Royersford, PA. Rose was born in Bari, Italy, and was the daughter of the late Nicola and Rosa Volpe.
Rose immigrated to the United States when she was 16 years old, and lived in both Pennsylvania and New York for a combined 61 years. Rose was a hard worker, and for over twenty years, Rose worked for Haverford College in the cafeteria preparing and baking food for the students. In addition, she worked as a child care provider, caring for children and helping them grow and flourish. Rose's main loves were family, friends, and food. Rose loved being around her family and cooking for them. Rose was a wonderful chef, and always took great care in making a delicious meal to share with family and friends. Many good times were spent gathered around her table. When not in the kitchen, you could find Rose in her garden, planting vegetables and tending to them. She was a devoted matriarch who dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren. Her love had no bounds, and she will be missed for her kindness and loving nature. She will be forever in our hearts.
In addition to her parents, Rose is preceded in death by her brothers; Guiseppi and Vito Volpe, and sister; Marie Furio.
Rose is survived and missed by her 4 children; Rose Perri, Donato Regina, Nick Regina, Maggie Finkbiner, and son in-law John Finkbiner. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; Nicholas, Matthew, Joseph, and Julianna Perri, and Gianna and Brielle Regina, and Ashley and Ava Finkbiner. Her living siblings are Nicoletta Derasmo, Antoinette Dorsagna, Francis Abbonizzio and sister-in-law Angela Volpe.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2018, 6:00-8:00PM, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335, and again on Friday, April 20, 2018 at St. Joseph Church, 332 Manor Ave, Downingtown, PA 19335, 9:00AM-10:00AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:15AM. Burial will follow to St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester, PA.
