Robert L. Niblick

Robert “Bob” Niblick died from complications related to his battle with Esophageal cancer in Paoli Hospital on August 15, 2019 at the age of 82.

Bob is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lynne; children, William Carlson (Christa), Bob Carlson (Lisa), Dannielle Niblick; Grandchildren Joshua, Jacob and Abigail; and devoted dog, Leroy. He is preceded in death by his father Wilfred, mother Elsie and brother Wilfred.

Bob was born on November 30, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA to Wilfred and Elsie Niblick. He graduated from Downingtown High School in 1954. He joined the Navy where he proudly served for four years. Bob then started his long career with IBM as a Senior Customer Engineer where he earned the nickname S.L.O.B (sweet lovable old Bob). He married his wife Lynne in 1973 and his family grew to include two sons, Bill and Bob. After building their home in Elverson they welcomed their daughter, Danni.

Bob was an avid collector of Railroadiana. He loved anything involving the railroad since he was given his first train ride at age 13. He was knowledgeable on all local Railroad companies and loved to mentor individuals new to the world of Railroadiana.

A Celebration of his Life is scheduled for Saturday, September 21 from 11 – 3. Anyone interested in attending please contact BobNiblickcelebration@gmail.com. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the Paoli Hospital Cancer Center for their care of Bob during his cancer treatment.
