Robert B. Jaszczak Sr.

Robert B. Jaszczak, Sr., 68, of Downingtown passed away on May 14th, 2020 at Penn Medicine Hospice after a courageous, hard fought battle with lung cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife, Diane Jaszczak, whom he shared 48 years of marriage.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Boleslous Jaszczak and Angelina Sroor Jaszczak, and stepmother, Floryann Jaszczak. He was raised in West Chester, PA and was a 1969 graduate of Bishop Shanahan High School where he played football. After marrying his wife Diane, they moved to Downingtown, PA where they raised their family.

He was a hardworking man that dedicated his career to providing for his family as an entrepreneur in the field of construction. When not at work you would find him with his children at their various sporting events, either coaching, refereeing, umping or spectating – he was his children’s biggest fan. As an avid sports fan he would be cheering on all of the Philadelphia sports teams, his favorite being the Eagles. In addition to volunteering his time with youth athletics, he also volunteered for the local fire police.

His love for family grew tenfold later in life upon the arrival of his grandchildren. He loved spending time with them and would be on the sidelines to cheer them on any chance he could get. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, wood crafting and spending time in his yard.

In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his children, Robert B. Jaszczak, Jr. and his wife Danielle, Brian Jaszczak and his wife Jessica, and Amy DePaul and her husband Santino; 10 grandchildren, Claudia, Gianna, Michael, Nevin, Harper, Ella, Isabella, Braeden, Luca and Gavin; and by three sisters; Carol Wrba (Joe), Balbina Potter and Bernardine Shearouse; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Stephanie Harvey.

Due to the current pandemic, services will be private with the family.
