Robert Lewis French

Robert Lewis French, 86, of Garnett Valley, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023, at Arbor Terrace Exton.

Born in Yeadon, Robert "Bob or Pop-Pop" was the son of the late Lewis and Helen (Smithbaker) French. He was the husband of the late Doris (Fratta) French, who passed away in 2010.

Bob was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Glen Mills. He enjoyed biking and tennis, often playing tennis at Cape May Tennis Club while spending his summers at the shore. He had a large group of friends with whom he enjoyed socializing. Pop-Pop also enjoyed watching sports, especially the Philadelphia Eagles and anything his grandson was involved in.

Bob is survived by his daughters: Andrea French, wife of Andrew Carpenter, of New Orleans, LA, Elaine French of West Chester, and Lauren Hammond, wife of Matthew, of Downingtown; grandson: Owen Hammond.

In addition to his wife and parents, Pop-Pop was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Loie Hammond.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023, from 9:45-10:45 AM at James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be conducted privately at the convenience of the family.
