Richard W. Valitski, 62, of Downingtown, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 3, 2017. He lives on through his beloved wife, Beth Walton Valitski, his two cherished children, Suzanne Marie and Matthew Ryan, as well as his step-children, Jonathan and Jesse Best. Born in Darby, PA and raised in Gibbsboro, NJ, Rich was the son of the late William and Dorothy Petrousky Valitski. His sister, Kathy, predeceased him.
Rich (Mr. V, Mr. Rich, Dad, and Hun) was recruited out of Drexel University 40 years ago to work for Exelon Corporation’s Limerick Generating Station as a Nuclear Reactor Operator (NRO), was promoted to Senior NRO and then again to Specialist. Subsequently, Rich graduated in Albright University’s Class of 2007 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business.
Rich enjoyed working with his hands and loved playing guitar, improving his home, inside and in the yard, especially when accompanied by his dogs, Kodi and Snuggles. Prior to being a Cub Scout Leader and coaching LYA soccer and softball, he enjoyed flying planes and scuba diving.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 8, 2017 at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown.
Interment will be private.
