Richard M. Foss, 58, of Coatesville, passed away unexpectedly the afternoon of Saturday, September 7th, 2019. He was the son of William J. Foss and Helen Marie Webber and the beloved husband of Maria Foss (nee McCarthy) for 34 blessed years of marriage.
Richard was a 1979 graduate of Chichester Highschool (Delaware County, PA). He then received his Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts from Cheyney University in 1983. He pursued a career in the design field which included a Professor Adjunct position at Arcadia University in 2006. He then became an enthusiastic lead sales rep at Performance and Trek Cycling to promote healthy living lifestyles through his passion of cycling. He took pride in volunteering for several years in the Tour de Shore, which benefited children of fallen officers.
Richard was an avid cyclist who knew everything there was to know about cycling. He was a man that spoke with such enthusiasm it would fill a room. He was a family man, enjoying his family to the fullest. Everything he did was always done with such devotion and determination.
In addition to his wife, Maria, Richard is survived by his children; Michael Seamus Foss (Melissa) of Glenmoore; Meaghan Marie Snyder (Dane) of Honeybrook; Rebecca Foss; 6 grandchildren; brothers: Joseph Foss (Kathy) and William Foss (Deborah), sisters Jannis Messick and Michelle (Imburgia) Conte; and several nephews and nieces.
A funeral service will be held Friday, September 13th, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the James J. Terry Funeral Home DOWNINGTOWN location, 736 E. Lancaster Ave. Downingtown PA, 19335. Friends may call from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard’s honor can be made to the Richard M Foss Memorial Fund – Checks can be made payable to “Richard M Foss Memorial Fund” and mailed to care of the Citadel Bank 842 E. Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square, PA 19348
