Richard J. Farrelly

Richard James Farrelly, 75, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2022 at his residence. He was the loving husband of Judith Farrelly, together for 42 years and married for 36 years, their Anniversary in August of 1986.

Born in Lansdowne on March 29, 1947, he was the son of the late Kathryn and Bernard Farrelly. Richard graduated from Monsignor Bonner High School with the class of 1965. He proudly served as a United States Marine during the Vietnam War, and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Rich lived most of his life in Delaware County, PA, and spent time living in Southern California.

For the past 19 years, Rich and Judie resided in Coatesville, PA, living in close proximity to their grandson. Together he and his grandson built an elaborate simulator, which would simulate flights and racing cars. Rich enjoyed building model ships from scratch and photography, especially taking pictures of the family. More recently he filled his days with working at Urban Outfitters, hanging out with his grandson, Jesse, and visiting Jesse’s dog, Luna. Rich and his wife played pool together every night after dinner, and they loved playing golf together. 

His family is sad that he has left them, but they are grateful for the times they had together, and he will be forever in their hearts. Surviving in addition to his wife is his step-daughter Marilyn Costalas, wife of Stephen; grandson Jesse Costalas; brother James Farrelly, brother Bernie Farrelly, husband of Joann, sister Kate Hoffman, wife of Bill, and sister Lois Meehan; and uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Connie Colella.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 11 am at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 1060 W. Lincoln Highway, COATESVILLE, PA 19320. Visitation will be held from 9:45 – 10:45 am prior to the service. Burial will be private.
