Rhyland Robertson McCullough, 14, died unexpectedly on Monday, April 19, 2021, at his home in Downingtown. It sucks a lot.

Rhyland was beloved by everyone who knew him, and no one could escape his laid back charm. He could most often be found swimming (wrestling) with friends in his pool, popping wheelies on his bike around town, shooting hoops, skating at Kerr park, playing video games with friends, or eating enough for three people. 

Rhyland was a Black Belt in the Kukkiwon style of Taekwondo, sprinter and Long Jumper on the DWest track team, and played the bass drum in the marching band. He was insanely athletic with a reputation for running so fast his shoes fell off, and he nailed a standing backflip the first time he tried. Everything he did, he did really big. All the way, with his whole heart; including his signature hair flip.  

Rhyland’s spirit carries on in his favorite people: his amazing and “super chill” mom and dad Jen and James, his sister Darian and brother-in-law Dan, niece and nephew Izzy and Taryn, his grandparents Chuck, Lynn, Tina, and Carolyn, lots of Aunts, Uncles, and cousins, his girlfriend Margaux, many friends, all the Real Homies, and lots of pets… especially Koda. He loved you all, and you all helped him carry the weight he held during his time here on this big blue ball.  

Everyone who remembers Rhyland is asked to celebrate him in their own way, every day. Make a fart joke. Eat four cheeseburgers. Admire how great your own ass is. Run a race in your pajamas. But most of all, be nice to each other. And do it really big.
