Priscilla L. Cumens

Priscilla “Pip” Louise Cumens, 76, of Downingtown, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023 at Chester County Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Harry Brown and Jane Ingram. 

Pip grew up in Downingtown and was an AVID fan of ANYTHING Downingtown and her Whippets.  She bled Blue and Gold! She graduated from DHS in 1964.  She was a Majorette in the Downingtown Marching Band.

She worked at Chemical Leaman's in the Intake Dept. and then after, babysitting what seemed to be the entire neighborhood on Jefferson Avenue.

She worked at USLI in King of Prussia as an assistant underwriter from where she retired after 27 years.

Pip spent many years as a Homemaker and was the "OG" sports Mom and taxi driver for her children and MANY other children. She spent many years cheering for her children with the Downingtown Young Whippets, at Downingtown Little League and Downingtown Jr. and Sr. High.

She LOVED traveling with her family and her late fiancée. Her most favorite destinations were Disney World and Newport, RI.  She loved country music and Kenny Roger's!

Anyone who knew Pip will remember her going to ANY casino where she could sit at the same slot machine for HOURS!

All of you who knew our mom, knew she was a firecracker! And now, she can light up the night sky anytime she wants.

Pricilla is survived by her son Robert E. Cumens (Linda); her daughters, Rebecca Cumens-Harris (Brian) and Amy L. Carroll; and her brother, William P. Brown (Alice).

She is also survived by her grandchildren with whom she loved with ALL her heart and soul, Cheyenne Elizabeth Carroll, Gavyn John Carroll, Fionnoula Evelyn Cumens and Taylor-Grace Harris; her former husband Robert Cumens; and MANY, MANY family members and friends.

She also had a huge place in her heart for ALL her grand-doggies, Maxwell William, Macy Jane, Dewie, Thelma , Hazel-Loo, Zorn, Largent and Jacy Lane.

In addition to her parents, Priscilla is preceded in death by her fiancée John Ettore and her grandson,  Dylan James Harris.

A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2023 at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown.  A time of sharing will begin at 11:00 a.m..
