Pilar Gonzales (89) passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at her home. Pilar is survived and missed by her loving husband of 64 years, Lawrence (Larry) and her two daughters, Olivia (Michael) Parker of Champaign, IL, Kathy (Gregory) Gonzales-Byrd of Downingtown, her grandsons Evan and Elliot Byrd, her sister Sophia Santino of Brooklyn, NY, and many nieces and nephews from her seven brothers and sisters.

Born in Topeka, Kansas, she was the daughter of Pedro and Juana (Llamas) Ponce. She met her husband Larry in 1950 and they married on August 22, 1953 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Topeka.

Due to Larry’s career, the couple also lived in Texas, West Virginia and Illinois before settling in Downingtown where Pilar became a devoted parishioner of 42 years at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Downingtown.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 332 Manor Rd., Downingtown, where family and friends may call from 9:30 to 10:45 AM. A rosary will be recited at 9 AM.

Interment will be at All Souls Cemetery, 3215 Manor Ave. Coatesville, PA.
